SSM honoured the 2018 Celebrating Seniors Volunteer Awards nominees and award recipients during our annual awards banquet on Sept 30, 2018 at the Conexus Arts Centre in Regina. The evening was a showcase of the many older adults whose contributions are invaluable as they give of themselves to better the quality of life for others. We thank all of these volunteers for the contributions they make to their respective communities across Saskatchewan.
Our guest speaker was Lorne Calvert, former Premier of Saskatchewan, former Principal of St. Andrew’s College, church minister, and engaging speaker. He spoke about the resilience of caraganas, and likened resilient prairie people to these hardy plants in an engaging, down-to-earth manner.
A big thank you goes out to our sponsors. Without them it would be impossible to host this prestigious evening!
