2020 Celebrating Seniors Volunteer Awards
Celebrating Seniors Volunteer Awards was initiated to recognize and honour outstanding senior volunteers in Saskatchewan. Nominees are residents (55+) of Saskatchewan, who consistently contribute to the overall quality of life in their communities through their volunteer activities.
In light of the current COVID-19 pandemic and provincial restrictions, SSM staff would like the public to know that we are still hopeful that the Celebrating Seniors Awards Banquet can be held as scheduled for Sunday, September 27, 2020. [Physically distance and flatten the curve everyone!] We are also quite aware that the scheduled date of the Banquet could change.
Nominations are still open for the 11th Annual Celebrating Seniors Volunteer Awards.
In fact, nominating a senior volunteer may be a good project during this time that most of us are staying home. Consider nominating an older adult in your community who supports others and contributes to the community. Download the 4 pages of Nomination forms (below). Consider what category the person fits best. Contact the person you wish to nominate. If they are willing to be nominated you can follow the instructions in the forms to get information, letters and pictures to support your nomination.
Deadline for the nominations is Friday June 5, 2020 There is a chance that this deadline may be extended. Please check our website where we will post any changes.
If you have any questions about the awards please contact Michel Sorensen at firstname.lastname@example.org or call the office number 306-359-9956 to leave a message.
