Words Are Powerful

In Saskatchewan, SSM has worked to analyze whether ageism is present in our population, how it is recognized and how we might reduce or eliminate its destructive effects.

The Ageism and Media project produced the guide Words are Powerful and provided it to journalists as we visited various newsrooms and management throughout Saskatchewan.

SSM has created a small (8 cm square, folded) printed fold-out resource with tips for writing and speaking to aid in overcoming ageist language. Copies are available at the SSM office. Contact SSM by phone at (306) 359-9956 or by email at ssm@skseniorsmechanism.ca

They make great hand-outs at meetings or conferences.
